I rented a car for 3 weeks and my 2 children. We drove all over Costa Rica and the car was perfect. You definitely need a 4x4 and suv to be a bit higher up.
I ended up with a Mitsubishi SUV, the car was sturdy, reliable and perfect for us. We drove everywhere, some of the roads weren’t great but the car was fine, and I felt very safe and comfortable.
Green motion couldn’t have been better. I arrived in the evening and we waited 10 mins for the shuttle from the airport to the office. Everything explained really well and I was treated really kindly and professionally.
On departure the handover was great and they dropped me back to my close by destination.
Highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again. Thank you so much.

We had a great boat trip from Uvita. Our week in the OSA Peninsula was both relaxing and lots of fun. Horse riding along the beach and through the forest meant we could see more wildlife than when we went on foot through Corcovado, although that was really good too. Monteverde was obviously a lot colder but abundance of humming birds was a highlight to a very enjoyable stay. The Martino

We drove more than 1600km covering a lot of Costa Rica from the Caribbean coast near Panama to the Pacific coast near Nicaragua. We saw lots of wildlife, stayed at some fabulous places, ate great food, met lots of wonderful people and had a fantastic time.

An SUV would be ideal for the roads if you are planning on staying from the highways. Many roads are uneven with potholes spread across them. The SUV helped navigate these with ease.

A shuttle was ready and waiting to pick up us up from the airport. Once we arrived at the office, we were in and out within half an hour- the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. When returning the car we were in a hurry to make our outgoing flight, and they were very helpful expediting the closure process.

You really need a 4 x 4 if you want to properly travel Costa Rica as may roads are unmade and with large potholes when travelling in land or off the main roads. Don't bother hiring a GPS or downloading google maps as Waze is the most accurate way of navigating.

Crazy driving in CR as all drivers use full beam almost all the time and they do not switch them off making driving very dangerous at night. It’s like this is not regulated at all in CR. Overall we have enjoyed the experience and the car. Thank you

Costa Rica is a great country. Driving is difficult at night due to poor lighting and roads.
leave plenty of time for Car hire collection they are not at the airport and lots of paperwork to fill in.
Arenal is fabulous so is Quepos.
Double check that you are charged the right amount when you pay and that you are charged in the right currency.
don't attempt to drive in rush hour.
